Who do you listen to?

Is there someone in your life that knows he or she has permission to speak frankly to you at anytime? That trusted person who will give his or her honest opinion as to how you handled a situation personally or at work. A person who knows you will not get defensive when they deliver sometimes hard to hear feedback.
We all need these people in our life. Our communication will not be spot on every time we share or try to impart our wisdom with someone. Intentional communication compensates for lapses of judgement and untimely thought sharing by making adjustments as we go along. Too often we never recognize the need for these adjustments or see it too late.
Who has permission to tell you the honest truth about your actions so you can adjust your communication? Do these individuals know and understand the permission you have given?
