Inspiration: The Vine

A part of my discipleship story is that I have been involved in numerous churches during my adult life. I have simply moved around the country a good bit and that has allowed me to connect with a much larger portion of God’s church body. Only when leaving church staff has the move been uncomfortable so these have been overwhelmingly positive changes. I am currently transitioning church’s again for positive reasons.
For the past 18 months I have been involved at Vine Community Church. I believe God called me to focus on my individual discipleship versus church-wide leadership for this season. It is where I truly discovered the art of 1-1 prayer.
It is not a program, it is part of their DNA and how they actively minister to and disciple individuals. To see literally 100+ people getting and receiving prayer at the end of each service is as spiritually uplifting and reassuring as you can experience. I admit to being afraid to participate initially since I had never seen anything like it.
Once my wife and I received prayer one Sunday we understood the true impact of this type of prayer. After an intentional discipleship period I was released to give prayer as a service area for the church. It was truly a privilege to take part and watch how God moved from week to week. It is now a significant part of my ongoing walk and a blessing to be submitted to God in this way. Who has inspired you through prayer?
These are the musings of a disciple of Christ simply trying to make sense of life by intentionally communicating with God. The intent is to give you points to ponder in 250 words or less, not closed ended teachings. React, interact and communicate with me and others as we live life intentionally and appreciate how God made each of us unique.
