Inspiration: YouVersion

Several years ago an acquaintance I had gotten to know through a series of conferences sent an email asking if I would take part in a mobile reading venture with my blackberry. Being a experimental kind of guy, I jumped at the opportunity. That was my first exposure to what is now the most popular bible app in the world, YouVersion. Terry Storch and the Digerati Team have been used by God in a mighty way around the world and in my life personally to bring focus to the written word in a modern day fashion.

It has been the first install on every phone I have owned since then, including my current iPhone. The convenience it brings cannot be overstated and I no longer get the what are you doing with your phone out in church looks (well not as often anyway). In a few days it will be 2 years since my world was rocked in an unreal way. My reaction to the event was to go back to my discipleship roots and I began with bible reading and my support partner.

I began a one year reading plan on December 28, 2009 and I had to catch up occasionally until the middle of February of 2010. Since that time I have not missed a day of reading (no catching up) – that’s nearly 2 years of reading 4-6 chapters a day at a minimum. This is not to boast but to give encouragement that it can be done and give thanks to LifeChurch.tv and the Digerati Team for an unbelievably reliable tool to explore God’s word no matter where I am or what is going on in my life.

These are the musings of a disciple of Christ simply trying to make sense of life by intentionally communicating with God. The intent is to give you points to ponder in 250 words or less, not closed ended teachings. React, interact and communicate with me and others as we live life intentionally and appreciate how God made each of us unique.
